Today’s guests at Veolia Water were from Zambia.
They had come to study Armenia’s experience in water resource management. It was the American company Synergy International Systems (founded by an Armenian, by the way) that had introduced them to Armenia. The company won a World Bank tender and is developing a management information system in Zambia as part of the Lusaka Sanitation Program.
According to Lili Mkrtchyan, Business Development Specialist at the company’s Armenian branch, the guests have a lot to see and learn here. They have already visited the Water Committee, and now they are interested in studying Veolia Water’s experience.
Shahin Butuila, Deputy CEO and Investment Director of the company, along with Karapet Ohanyan, Regional Director for the East, shared the company’s experience with the guests. They presented the management of the sewage system and the ongoing work in water purification and quality assurance—topics that were of particular interest to the Zambian representatives.
Notably, the delegation included both healthcare professionals and water supply specialists, each of whom received the specific information they were interested in—regarding both Veolia Water and the broader experience of the Veolia Group.
