Water Meter Data Recording Moves to a New Technological Level with Veolia Group’s Investment. With the aim of making the process of recording water meter readings more reliable, accurate, and efficient, a modern radio-module system has been introduced with funding from Veolia Group. The system enables water meter readings to be recorded remotely, eliminating the need to visit individual households.
The introduction of this new technology is another investment by Veolia Group aimed at modernizing water supply infrastructure. The technological solution is already operating as a pilot project in Arinj and in the Arabkir and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan. Installation works have now also commenced in Sari Tagh. The next locations are Kasakh and Proshyan. The radio-module devices are being installed in areas where investments have been made and the water supply network has been replaced the Mandatory Capital Works Program. The radio module enables water meter readings to be collected within a radius of approximately 200 meters and transmitted to the relevant system.
There is no longer a need for inspectors to visit households to record meter readings, which reduces the impact of human factors on the reading-recording process. At the same time, through the relevant software solution, the system generates alerts in cases of external interference or potential unauthorized activity, making it possible to identify and record such cases in a timely manner.
The radio-module devices have an operating lifespan of 10–15 years, giving the investment long-term significance as well. Veolia Group’s financing and implementation of this system demonstrate the company’s consistent commitment to the continued modernization of the water supply sector and the application of innovative technologies.
Alongside the transformation of water infrastructure, the metering system is also being modernized, establishing a new level of service that is more modern, technologically advanced, and efficient.
