In Shengavit Administrative District, Veolia Water is carrying out the urgent reconstruction of the sewer network on H. Hovsepyan Street. During the Soviet period, the street was served by two 500 mm diameter sewer mains. However, one of them was later damaged, leaving only a single sewer main in operation. As a result, recurring blockages developed, affecting buildings No. 11, 21, 23 and 25 on Manandyan Street, as well as Araratyan Street. To eliminate the blockages, which occurred several times a week, it was initially decided to rehabilitate the section connecting the two sewer mains. However, after excavating a trench approximately five metres deep, it was discovered that this section was broken and completely blocked, making rehabilitation impossible. Veolia Water is therefore reconstructing the damaged section of the out-of-service 500 mm diameter sewer main. Once completed, the project will permanently resolve the wastewater drainage issue on H. Hovsepyan Street and ensure the reliable and uninterrupted operation of the sewer networks serving Manandyan and Hovsepyan Streets, as well as Bagratunyats 3rd Lane and Araratyan 1st Lane.
