On the evening of September 6, citizens from the Byureghavan community sought medical assistance with complaints characteristic of an intestinal infection. On the morning of September 7, specialists from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) conducted sampling in the city of Byureghavan. Drinking water samples and biological specimens from patients were collected for further laboratory testing. Drinking water sampling was carried out in two stages. In the morning, 16 drinking water samples and 25 biological specimens were collected, while an additional 19 drinking water samples were collected that same evening. As of now, no discrepancies have been detected in any of the drinking water samples collected. No infectious disease pathogens have been detected in the 25 biological specimens tested either.The epidemiological investigation is ongoing. Sampling conducted for monitoring purposes will continue on an ongoing basis. The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia is monitoring the situation. Additional information will be provided if necessary.
