The planned water supply interruption announced today in Yerevan’s Arabkir, Kentron, and Erebuni administrative districts is due to ongoing works on five sections of the “Arzni 2–Yerevan” 800 mm steel main water pipeline.
In recent years, this vital pipeline has suffered frequent damage in the Korea Gorge area due to rockfalls, landslides, and the dumping of construction waste. To address the problem, the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia and Veolia Djur company jointly developed a construction project to bypass the landslide-prone section.

The project is now nearing completion, and the newly built 750-meter section of the pipeline is being connected to the existing main line. Meanwhile, Veolia Djur’s “Arabkir” operational unit is simultaneously replacing pipeline segments in four other areas, repairing a major break in the landslide zone, and installing flow meters to better manage the distribution network along Proshyan and Griboyedov Streets.
Although the water supply interruption is officially scheduled to last until tomorrow evening, the Veolia Team is doing its utmost to restore water service ahead of schedule.
