A regular meeting of the interagency working group aimed at addressing issues in the water sector has taken place

On December 11, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, a regular meeting of the interagency working group—established by the RA Prime Minister’s Decision N690-A of July 22, 2024, to develop a Water Sector Strategy, address identified issues, and elaborate a corresponding action plan—was held. The participants discussed possible avenues for further developing cooperation with “Veolia Jur” CJSC in the provision of drinking water supply and wastewater (sewage treatment) services, as well as potential solutions to existing challenges. In particular, they reviewed the ongoing construction or reconstruction works of drinking water supply and wastewater systems, as well as the possibility of involving water intake from various sources with the aim of improving the stable drinking water supply and proper wastewater management of Yerevan and regional communities. At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan emphasized the need for the continuous development of strategic approaches and the assurance of effective investments in the water sector, giving corresponding instructions in these directions.
