Several blockages per week, foul odors, and unsanitary conditions — this was the situation with the sewer line serving 63/1 Orbeli Street in Yerevan’s Arabkir administrative district. The Veolia team was called to the site so frequently that the residents and our specialists already knew each other by name.
To resolve the issue, it was decided to include this address in the list of sewer pipelines to be reconstructed under this year’s Unplanned Works of the Mandatory Capital Works Program. A few days ago, the Company launched reconstruction works here, replacing about 150 linear meters of sewer pipeline with 200–250 mm diameter pipes, and constructing 10 new manholes. The works are expected to be completed in the coming days, after which complaints from this location will stop, and the sewer line will be fully operational.
This is the second site in Yerevan where Veolia is reconstructing a sewer pipeline under the unplanned works program. The replacement of a 30-meter-long, 300 mm diameter sewer pipeline at the Leningradyan–Sebastia intersection has already been completed. Next in line for reconstruction is the yard sewer network of building 36/1, Acharian Street, Avan district. The Company has invested AMD 30 million in this program.
