Veolia Water’s Meghri Operations Unit has reconstructed the main supply pipeline serving the village of Karchevan in Armenia’s Syunik Province. Although the village’s distribution network had been completely replaced, the main supply pipeline remained an old steel pipeline installed many years ago. As a result, it suffered several failures each month, with each incident causing the loss of 3–4 litres of water per second. After taking over the operation and maintenance of the settlement’s water supply system, Veolia Water initially replaced a 70-metre section of the main supply pipeline and has now completed the reconstruction of the remaining 380 metres. The company currently provides the village of Karchevan, with its 110 subscribers, with a 24-hour water supply at a flow rate of 3 litres per second.
