The 2025 Mandatory Capital Investment Program (MCIP) of “Veolia Djur” has reached Aragats village in Armavir Province. The company has launched the reconstruction of a 16 km water pipeline, investing AMD 347 million to serve 680 customers in the area.
The old and deteriorated steel and cast iron pipelines, built back in the 1980s, could no longer ensure reliable water supply. Over the years, the system had become completely worn out from a technical standpoint. On average, about 30 hidden leaks were being recorded each month, the elimination of which required significant time and resources. Additionally, the pipelines passed through private residential properties, where numerous unauthorized connections were identified.
To address these issues fundamentally, the company launched the reconstruction works in May, with completion expected in the spring of 2026. As a result, water supply and quality will improve, pressure will be regulated, and most importantly, the loss of 13 liters of water per second will be prevented.
