Veolia Water’s Etchmiadzin Operations Site continues to improve the city’s water supply system using its own resources. A new water pipeline is currently being constructed to supply the Charents District. The existing approximately 980-metre-long, deteriorated 300 mm steel pipeline is being replaced with a new 315 mm-diameter polyethylene pipeline. In addition, around 800 metres of 110 mm-diameter pipeline is being constructed to serve individual connections. The old network was in critical condition, with breakdowns occurring at least once a week. Moreover, due to the lack of operational valve assemblies, it was often impossible to isolate only the damaged section in the event of a breakdown.
The installation of new valve assemblies will make the network more manageable, allowing the water supply to be temporarily interrupted only in individual sections when necessary. In addition, 35–40 water meter chambers are being constructed, while water meters are being relocated to the property boundary points. Dear customers, although these works require temporary interruptions to the water supply, they are essential to resolving a problem that has accumulated over many years. The deteriorated pipelines are being replaced, the old network is being gradually decommissioned, and the water supply system is becoming more reliable and easier to manage.
