Using its own resources, Veolia Water is upgrading the water supply network in the village of Saralanj, Artik community, Shirak Province. As part of the project, the Company's Artik Operations Unit is replacing an ageing steel water main along 5th Street with 410 metres of new 75 mm polyethylene pipeline. Over the years, the deteriorated pipeline had become a major source of water supply disruptions, resulting in interruptions to the supply schedule and causing inconvenience for local residents. In addition, the section was experiencing water losses of approximately 3–4 litres per second. The main construction works are expected to be completed within the coming days. Veolia Water currently provides water services to approximately 230 customers in the village. Once the project is completed, around 110 customers—representing nearly 40% of the village's serviced population—will receive water through the newly reconstructed pipeline. The project will significantly reduce water losses, improve the quality and reliability of water supply, and provide the residents of Saralanj with a more stable and consistent water service.
