Veolia Water Company continues the implementation of its 2026 Mandatory Capital Works Program (MCWP). This time, large-scale rehabilitation works are underway on the water supply systems of the communities of Dzorak, Arevshat, and Lanjazat in Armenia's Ararat Province. With an investment of AMD 274 million, approximately 9 km of water pipelines will be rehabilitated, and 200 water meter chambers will be installed at service connection boundary points. As a result, technical and commercial water losses will be reduced, the manageability of the water supply system will improve, and water savings of approximately 29 liters per second will be achieved. The first major phase of the program is being implemented in the community of Dzorak, with an investment of AMD 90 million. For many years, the 3.2 km transmission pipeline supplying the village passed through marshy and difficult-to-access terrain, making repair works extremely challenging even in the event of minor failures. The situation was further aggravated by the deteriorated distribution network, pipelines running through private properties, illegal connections, and significant water losses, which resulted in a sharp drop in water pressure, particularly during the summer months. To address these issues, a new 1.5 km transmission pipeline is being constructed along the roadside, ensuring safer operation and easier maintenance of the system. At the same time, approximately 3.1 km of the community's distribution network is being rehabilitated, while 90 water meter chambers are being installed at service connection boundary points. Upon completion of the works, water losses will be significantly reduced, the reliability of the water supply system will improve, and residents will benefit from a more stable and higher-quality water supply.
