In 2025, Veolia Water undertook a major reconstruction of the water supply network in the village of Aragats in the Armavir region, with results already tangible for thousands of residents. Through its mandatory capital works program, the company invested AMD 347 million to completely replace the village’s worn-out and emergency-prone pipelines, totaling 16 km. Although consumers in Aragats have always had 24-hour water supply, due to the network’s deterioration, 17 liters of water per second were previously lost. Today, instead of the previous 23 liters per second supplied to the village, the current flow of 6 liters per second is sufficient to maintain continuous water supply. In Aragats, home to 3,089 residents, discussions are now focused not on frequent failures or water shutoffs announced for repairs, but on a stable water supply system. The reconstructions carried out in 2025 laid the groundwork for the next phase. As a logical continuation of the works, the Echmiadzin operational site initiated reconstruction of the Aragats village entrance.

The company is independently renovating a 660-meter section of new 160 mm polyethylene pipeline. The construction of the new intake will enhance the reliability of the system, ensure a more balanced distribution, and reduce pressure fluctuations throughout the network. This intake will serve not only Aragats but also neighboring villages. The pipeline also supplies water to Aghavnatun, Amberd, Dohs, and Tsaghkalanz villages. The water saved will be directed, especially during the summer peak, to these villages to meet consumer demand. As a result, water-related issues in Aragats are now a thing of the past. Consistent investments, rapid response to emergencies, and large-scale construction demonstrate that positive changes in the system are possible when there is determination and when the consumer’s interest is prioritized.
