The village of Brnakot in Syunik Province receives its water supply from springs on the mountain of the same name, located 17 km away. Winters in this area are harsh; consequently, ascending to the springs to carry out any repair work becomes almost impossible after the first snowfall. For this reason, ahead of winter each year, the 'Sisian' operational division conducts preventive inspection and leak-detection work in the spring area of Mount Brnakot and along the entire length of the pipeline. This year as well, inspections revealed 7 damaged sections. Specialists swiftly eliminated the failures and replaced a problematic 30-meter section of the 200 mm diameter pipeline with new polyethylene pipes. Thanks to the completed work, it will be possible to prevent potential water supply disruptions and complications during the winter months.
