Veolia Jur has completed the work on the 1,000 mm diameter 'Garni-Yerevan' water main. The company's specialists also worked through the night in order to finish the operations within the scheduled timeframe and restore water supply to consumers as quickly as possible. A 36-hour water outage had been announced due to the implementation of the work. Before starting technical operations on a pipeline of such diameter, it is necessary to completely drain the pipeline, which is a time-consuming process. During major water outages, Veolia Jur, as a rule, attempts to resolve several technical issues related to the given pipeline simultaneously.

This time, a valve was replaced in Erebuni, several leaks were repaired in different sections of the water main, and newly constructed water lines built by the contractor were connected to the pipeline in Nubarashen. Following the completion of the core technical work, the system recovery phase began. The 1,000 mm diameter pipeline must be filled with water gradually, after which it will be possible to restore normal system operations.

The company reports that water supply to residential areas will begin to be restored gradually starting from midday. Thus, the duration of the announced 36-hour water outage includes not only the time needed for technical work on the pipeline, but also for its initial drainage and subsequent refilling with water after work completion.
